Grok, xAI’s frontier AI model family

Modified on Mon, 15 Dec at 10:31 AM

Omniscope now integrates with xAI’s Grok models to bring advanced reasoning, dynamic real-time insights, robust language understanding, and developer-friendly tools into your workflows. Whether you’re automating analytics, generating content, solving logic-heavy problems, or building AI agents, Grok offers flexible and powerful AI capabilities.

Grok is xAI’s flagship suite of large language models developed to compete at the highest tier of AI performance. With each generation, xAI has significantly improved reasoning depth, response quality, and domain flexibility, while also experimenting with specialised variants for cost, speed, or niche tasks.

Grok models as of late 2025

Here’s a breakdown of the most relevant Grok models today, including general-purpose versions and task-optimised variants:

Model / VariantPrimary Strengths / Use Cases
Grok 4 Fast / Grok 4.1 FastEfficiency-optimised variants with massive context windows (up to millions of tokens) and agent-tool capabilities. Fast responses and cost-effective inference for developers and enterprise use cases.
Grok 3 / Grok 3 MiniEarlier advanced reasoning models with reinforcement-learning-driven problem solving, high benchmark scores in math, science, and code generation, and “Think”/“Big Brain” reasoning modes.

What makes Grok unique

Reasoning & “Think” modes: Later Grok generations include mechanisms to self-correct, explore alternative solutions, and boost logical depth on tasks like math, science, and structured output generation.

Context and scale: Many Grok variants offer large context windows (tens of thousands to millions of tokens), enabling analysis of long documents, workflows, or extended conversations without losing track of key details.

Configure Grok in Omniscope

To configure Grok in Omniscope, you’ll typically follow these high-level steps:

  1. Create an xAI API key

  2. Accept terms of service

    • Complete any required user agreements for access to xAI’s AI models.

  3. Generate and store your API key

    • Once issued, copy the key and secure it as you would any sensitive credential.

  4. In Omniscope, go to the admin app → AI Settings

    • Click on “Add provider”, select xAI, and paste the key.

  5. Select model variants

    • choose the Grok model(s) you want to use (e.g., Grok 4 Fast for speed).
