Database source - querying data in 'live query' mode

Omniscope allows users to extract and transform data from multiple sources, including the databases.

Once extracted, queried and downloaded into Omniscope workflow area, user is able to blend, enrich and transform this data, even return it to the same database location in its improved state.

What happens if the database is just too big, and if the user doesn't even know where to start, which tables or dimensions to extract?  It may be taxing to try to empty the whole multi-billion record collection into a workflow just for the sake of data exploration.

Better alternative is to use the database in 'live query' mode - see Omniscope Database source block options.
It allows the user to connect the target database to an Omniscope Report block, containing filter devices and visualisations. Once the configuration is enabled (see the blue lightening button) the database query results will be streamed directly into the report, powering the visualisation devices.

This interactive visual interface is an efficient way to to examine the data which is still situated in its original location, while gaining useful insight without having to process so many records. No data is loaded or stored locally, but the queries are executed directly on interaction with charts.

Visualisations created in this way can also be used for reporting purposes.

Report makers can perform additional data aggregation, calculations and merge this source with other data in the Report Data Sources area (available from the 3-dot menu in the Report, in the edit mode), considering that this data arrived without undergoing the usual preparation step in an Omniscope ETL workflow.
